    OSBs may be  interested to know of a recent publication: ‘With The Cumberland Artillery In  The Great War’. It is based on the papers of Lt-Col.D.J.Mason, D.S.O., T.D.,  which have been edited by Thomas Thompson (FN 44-49). 
      Dan Mason was a West Cumberland solicitor who, as a Territorial officer,  commanded the Workington Battery of the Cumberland Artillery in the campaigns  in Gallipoli, Sinai and then the Western Front. The volume also contains a  history of the regiment from its formation to its disbandment in 1967.
